AskeBio Figure 1 image

We provide explanations of this figure in both technical and less technical terms, below:

In technical terms, this figure illustrates the activity of plant extracts against a fungal pathogen and nematodes. Growth of pepper plants in soil A) containing Phytophthora capsici, 200 ppm BIOFUME™ on right, untreated control on left, and B) containing a mixture of P. capsici and nematodes (Meloidogyne spp.) From the topmost row: 400, 200, 100 or 0 ppm BIOFUME™ were applied.

In less technical terms, this figure illustrates how BIOFUME™ can protect pepper plants against fungal pathogens and nematodes. In A), you see how untreated plants (on left) are killed by the fungal pathogen P. capsici, while plants treated with BIOFUME™ grow quite nicely. In B), you can see how AkseBio2™ can protect plants against a combination of nematodes and P. capsici: the plants on the bottom row were not treated, and they grow poorly or not at all. As BIOFUME™ is applied in greater concentrations (100-400 ppm, with 400 ppm being the topmost row), you see the pepper plants growing more vigorously.
